A. juniperina var. glandulosa (Boiss. & Huet) Boiss., Fl. Or. 1: 677 (1867)! Like M. juniperina but loosely tufted; stem nodes not swollen, with or without axillary fascicles at flowering; leaves ± setaceous, slightly spinose, those of the sterile shoots ± fasciculate, not spreading; inflorescence usually lax, pedicels 10-35 mm, usually spreading, Fl. 6-7. Stony places, 1850-2450 m. Type: [Turkey B8 Erzurum] Gueze vsersus Techdagh supra Erzurum, 2130-2440 m, vii 1853, Huet (BM! K!). B7 Tunceli: above Pülümür, 1850 m, D. 29296!
