S. cartilaginea Hub.-Mor. in Notes R.B.G. Edinb. 28: 1 (1967). Perennial, stems erect, up to 55 cm. Leaves elliptic to oblanceolate, 6-İ0 mm broad, somewhat fleshy, cartilaginous-margined, glabrous. Inflorescence a panicle. Calyx 15-17 mm, very smooth and glossy, the veins very inconspicuous. Petals white above, greenish beneath, the lamina divided to the middle. Antho-phore 5 mm. Capsule oblong, 10 x 3 mm, ± included in the calyx. Fl. 7. Steppe and slopes, 2150-2600 m. Type: Turkey [C9] Van, distrikt Gürpinar, ÇuhGediği, Pass zwischen Hoşap und Başkale, Artemisia-steppe am Nordwesthang, Conglomerat, 2150-2200 m, 9 vii 1951, Huber-Morath 11169 (holo. Hb.
