Erect perennial or sometimes biennial with short retrorse indumentum below, glabrescent above, often with viscid patches in the inflorescence. Basal leaves obovate or oblanceolate, acute, grey-green. Inflorescence paniculate with wide-angled, symmetrical branches in pairs, bearing lax, few-flowered cymules. Calyx 8-11 mm, slightly inflated and with a constriction below the apex in fruit, glabrous. Petals whitish, deeply bifid. Anthophore 2.5-4 mm. Capsule included in the calyx. Fl. 4-6.
