C. vulvaria L., Sp. PI. 220 (1753). Ic: Hegi, 111. Fl. Mittel-Eur. ed. 2, 3(2): t. 96 (1960). Annual, 5-25 cm, branched from the base, often decumbent, smelling of bad fish. Leaves 1-2.5 x 1-2.5 cm, rhomboid or ovate, entire or with a single tooth-like angle on each margin at the broadest part, mealy beneath. Inflorescence a small terminal or axillary panicle. Perianth segments rounded on the back. Seeds with faint radial furrows and irregular thickenings between them. Fl. 5-7. Waste places, in the streets of towns and villages, preferring localities rich in nitrates, sl-1250 m. Described from Europe (Hb. Linn. 313/18!). A6 Samsun: Samsun, s.l., Tobey 844!
