Ic. 7(2): t. 765a (1960). Figure 9, p. 317. Plant glabrous or with plug-like tubercles or short, non-fragile bristles. Leaves thread-like (var. tenuifolia Tausch) or broader, cylindrical. Flowers solitary in spike-like inflorescences. Perianth segments with thin membranous wings or crested outgrowths; tip of the segment above the wing thin-membranous, ± obtuse, somewhat raised but crumpled in the centre, with the middle nerve only weakly developed.
