A. bashkalensis Chamberlain in Notes R.B.G. Edinb. 29: 291 (1969). Scapose perennial with a woody base. Leaves 6-7 cm; leaflets 5-7 mm, broadly elliptic, simple-lanate, 8-16-paired: stipules c. 8 mm. lanceolate with a subulate tip. Peduncles 8-11 cm. Flowers sessile, in dense cylindrical c. 30-flowered spikes,elongating on maturity. Bracts c. 5 mm, lanceolate. Calyx c. 10 mm, tubular, shortly black- and white-villous; teeth 1-2 mm, unequal. Corolla pinkish-mauve; standard c. 18 mm. Legume unknown. FI. 6. Grassy mountain steppe, 2800 m. Type: Turkey B9 Van: Ispiriz Da., Güzeldere Tepe, 20 km NNW of Başkale, 2800 m, Cheese & Watson 1446 (holo. K!). Endemic. Only known from the type. Probably distantly related to A. tauri-coliis but mature fruits are required in order to confirm its true affinities. |
