Variable in the density of indumentum and the length of calyx teeth. Hayek (Ann. Nat. Hofm. Wien 28:163, 1914) described var. polyphyllum on a Siehe gathering from Konya, with 5-7 pairs of leaflets and a less dense indumentum; no specimens of it have been seen.
Sect. Crinifera (Boiss.) B. Fedtsch. Caulescent. Stipules united. Lomentum with long setae.
