Syrian Desert, N. Iraq. Ir.-Tur. element. Variable in indumentum density, but a distinct species easily recognised by its height, large leaflets and large golden-yellow corollas. The type and specimen unicum of O. trichocalycina is an inadequate non-fruiting garnering, but there is no doubt that it is conspecific with O. galegifolia.
