Caespitose or mat-forming suffruticose perennial similar to S. caespitosa but differing by taller stems (to 40 cm) with inflorescence clearly exceeding leaf level; larger terminal leaf segments (to 6 x 1 cm); more numerous, often widely spaced verticillasters; larger usually white corollas (30-35 mm); and somewhat larger nutlets (c. 3 x 3 mm).
