A. kharputense Freyn & Sint. in Öst. Bot. Zeitschr. 42:378 (1892). Ic: Rech. fil-, Fl. Iranica 76: t. 8 f. 108(1971). Figure 9. Map 33. Bulb ovoid or subglobose, 1.5-2.5(-3) cmdiam. Stem 30-50 cm, sometimes reddish. Leaves 2-3, broadly lanceolate, (7-)20-40 mm broad, undulate, twisted, abruptly apiculate, aculeolate at margin. Spathe 2-3-lobed. Umbel hemispherical, (2.5-}3.5-8.5 cm diam., many-flowered, dense. Pedicels straw-coloured, very slender, 3-4 x flowers. Perianth segments white or cream, linear, 5-6 mm, finally limp and somewhat reflexed. Filaments almost subulate from a triangular-lanceolate base, as long as or 1/3 longer than perianth. Anthers cream. Ovary green, blackish-green, blackish-maroon or blackish. Capsule subglobose, c. 5 mm. Fl. 5. Fallow fields, grassy slopes, cultivated fields and vineyards, on basaltic and heavy red clay soils and limestone rocks, 900-2000 m.
