A.sintenisii Freyn in Öst. Bot. Zeitschr. 42:377(1892). Figured. Map 28. Bulb ovoid, 7-10 mm diam., outer tunics leathery, glossy. Stem 30-45 cm, warted at tip or glabrous. Leaves 2-4 mm broad, flat, acute, margin and long sheaths scabrid. Spathe caducous. Umbeiglobose,(1.5-)2.5-3 cm diam., 30-40-flowered, dense. Pedicels 3-4 mm, unequal, outer ones with white, hyaline bracteoles at base. Perianth tubular-campanulate; segments pale pink with intensely pink tips, 7-10 mm, keeled, outer loosely bearded especially along keel with long white papillae, inner glabrous. Filaments somewhat shorter than perianth, densely ciliolate at margin; central cusp of inner filaments much shorter than lateral cusps. Capsule ovoid, c. 4 mm, hidden by persistent perianth twice as long as capsule. FL 6-7. Rocky places and damp meadows, c 1300 m. Type: [Turkey B7 Erzincan] Eğin (Kemaliye), in agris otiosis ad Kota, 1 vii 1890, Sintenis 2889 (holo. B! iso. IE! LD!). E. Anatolia. B7Malatya/Sivas: Kangal to Hekimhan, 1300 m, Stn.&Hend. 5390! Endemic. Ir.-Tur. element. Allied to A. aucheri and A. erubescens C. Koch. Distinct mainly on account of the bearded outer perianth segments. |
