Leaves 2-3(-6), c. as long as scape, 5-8.5 mm broad, usually broadest in upper half, gradually narrowing towards base, apex attensate-acuminate, margin smooth. Scape 10-20 cm, often tinged-purplish. Raceme 10-18-flowered, ellipsoid, rather dense. Pedicels 2-3 mm, recurved,deep purplish. Flower buds deep blue. Perianth indigo, dark dull violet-brown «rises pressed, somewhat nodding, 6-6.5 mm, urceolate; lobes 1/2 x tube. Anthers yellow. Fruiting raceme cylindrical; pedicels c. 6 mm, arcuate. Valves of capsule 9-10 mm, broadly obovate, emarginate at apex, tinged bluish. Fl. 7. Alpine pasture, rock ledges, 2300-3000 m.
