F. minuta Boiss. & Noe in Boiss., Diagn. ser. 2(4):104 (1859). Syn: F. carduchorum Rix in Notes RJB.G. Edinb. 31:125, f. 1A (1971)! Map 46. Bulb to 3 cm diam,,often with many bulblets. Stem 10-20 cm, with papillae lanceolate, acute, all alternate or upper in whorl of 3. Flowers 1-3; perianth narrowly campanulate, purplish-yellow or reddish-brown, not tessellated, but sometimes blotched; segments lanceolate, acute, outer 1.6-2.2 x c. 0.7 cm, inner c. 0.8 cm broad. Nectaries 2-4 x 1 mm, lanceolate, green, at base of perianth. Filaments 6-10 mm, papillose. Style 4-7 mm, 3-fid; branches 2-4 mm, reflexed at maturity, smooth. Capsule not winged. 2n = 24. Fl. 4-7. By late snow patches, in deciduous Quercus scrub, 1800-3500 m. Type: [Turkey B9 Van] cum praecedenti [F. kurdica] in subalpinis Kurdis-taniae, Noe (holo. G! iso. LE!). E. & S.E. Anatolia.
