Bulbs with dark brown tunics, new bulb forming just above base of old. Basal leaf 1, fistulose, 5-9(-ll) cm, 1-1.5 mm diam. Inflorescence umbellate, 2-7.5(-9) cm, flowers sometimes replaced by a cluster of bulbils. Cauline leaves 2, opposite, lower one 1.5-3.5 cm x 3-5 mm, upper 1-2 cm. Flowers l-2(-4). Pedicels 1-3 cm, elongating to 4 cm after flowering, usuaOy glabrous or thinly hairy, rarely woolly. Perianth segments yellow inside, green outside, 8-12(-14) x 1.5-3 mm, elongating after flowering to 12-15 mm. Capsule not known. Fl. 5-8. Alpine meadows, by melting snow, 1900-2900 m.

Caucasia, Iran. Ir.-Tur. element. A specimen from BIO Ağri (Küçük Ağıl Da., 1500 m, Sauer 281/57!) may also belong to this species. Very close to G. fistulosa from which it differs mainly in its smaller size.
