G.tenera Pascher in Sitz.-Ber. Deutsch. Naturw.-Med. Ver. Böhm. 'Lotos' n.s. 24:130(1904). Ic: Fl. URSS 4: t. 9 f. 4a, b (1935-leaf, perianth segment & stamen only). Bulb with a dark brown tunic, new bulb forming beside old, without thickened roots. Basal leaves 2, filiform, 0.5 mm broad, equalling or exceeding inflorescence. Inflorescence cymose, 8-15 cm, branched only at apex, sparsely hairy. Cauline leaves 2-3, lowest lanceolate, to 6 x 0.5 cm, acuminate, upper narrower, alternate, widely spaced. Flowers 2-5, often replaced by a group of sometimes leafy bulbils. Pedicels 1.5-3.5 cm, sparsely hairy. Perianth segments pale yellow with a broad green stripe outside, 7-9 x 1.5 mm, elongating to 11 mm after flowering, obtuse. Capsule not known. Fl. 4. On damp cliffs in gorges and on grassy slopes, c. 1800 m. Type: Turkestan, collector not stated [USSR, Samarkand, a waterfall nr Siyab reservoir, 4 iii 1869, O. Fedtschenko (holo. LE!)]. S.E. Anatolia, rare. B9 Van: gorge c. 8 km W. of Hosap, 1800 m, Rix 1902!N. Iran, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, C. Asia. Ir.-Tur. element. Related to G. chrysantha and G. tenuissima. |
