Like H. heldreichii but leaves often broader, first oae (6-)8-20 mm broad, second nearly always at least half as broad; leaf margin completely glabrous; pedicels 2-7 mm; perianth less dark coloured, deep blue-violet. 2n =18. FL 3-4. Dry slopes under Pinus, limestone scree, clay, nr melting snow, 600-1300 m. Type: [Turkey C5 Içel] in Cilicia ad Tarsous (Tarsus), Aucher 2116 (holo. G.iso. E!K!). S. Anatolia (Cilician Taurus); very local. C5 içel: above Namrun, 1280 m, Balls 177! Adana: below Pozanti, 600-700 m, Lamond 6! Bürücek, 1300 m, D. 26345! Niğde: Ulukişla, 1280 m, Balls 647! Endemic. E.
