T. sintenesii Baker in Gard. Chron. sex. 3,9:330(1891). Ic: Sot. Mag. 117: t. 7193 (1891). Map 48. Stoloniferous. Tunics subcoriaceous with soft tawny hairs around basal plate and at neck. Stem 10-3 0 cm. Leaves 4(-5), glabrous or upper ones dilate, glaucous, channelled, mostly undulate, ± erect, oblong-lanceolate to ovate-lanceolate, 15-27 x 2-6 cm. Flowers orange-red, outside dull or paler, creamy orange or pinkish; blotch black or greenish-black, less thanl/3 length of outer perianth segments, narrow, rim whitish to yellow or absest. Outer perianth segments 40-100 x 16-42 mm, ovate-elliptic to ovate-rhomboid, acute to acuminate; inner 30-85 x 12-30 mm, obovate to obovate-oblong, rounded. Filaments 8-12 mm, black; anthers 10-20 mm, yellow or dark; pollen oiive or yellow. Ovary often glaucous, not narrowed below stigma. Capsule 45-57 mm, ellipsoid. Fl. 4-5(-6). Almost invariably in cultivated lands, 1100-2440 rn. Type: A specimen (not preserved) cultivated at Kew from material collected at [Turkey B7 Elazığ] Schuscknass (Şuşnaz) near Erzeroum, Sintenis.
