Suffrutescent perennial. Stems numerous, erect, 8-32 x 1-2 mm, villosulous. Median cauline leaves oblong or lanceolate, 12-24 x 3-5 mm, rounded at base, pilose, ± 3-nerved, usually only the upper leaves glandular-margined. Cymes conferted, 1-3 cm broad, 3-11-flowered. Outer sepals lanceolate, subacuminate, 8-9 mm, glandular-margined throughout. Petals bright pink or lilac, c. 25 mm, tapering into a yellow claw ¼ as long as limb. Capsule 5-6 mm. Fl. 6-7. Rocky limestone and volcanic slopes, 2100-2600 m.

Soviet Armenia. Ir.-Tur. element. Closely allied to L. hirsutum subsp. anatolicum, L. unguiculatum and L. hypericifolium. The Ararat gathering differs from material from further S in having all leaves glandular-margined, a laxer infructes-cence, and more attenuate sepals.
