E. camaldulensis Dahnh., Cat. P1. Horti Camaid. ed. 2:20 (1832). Syn: E. rostratus Schlecht. in Linnaea 20:655 (1847) non Cav. (1797).
Tree up to 15 m: bark smooth, deciduous. Juvenile leaves narrowly to broadly lanceolate, 6-9 x 2.5-4 cm. Adult leaves narrowly lancolate, 12-22 x 0.8-2 cm. Umbels 5-10-flowered; peduncles 10-20 mm, terete. Operculum conical to rostrate. Fruit 7-8 x 5-9 mm, hemispherical with a broad rim; valves exserted, incurved. Ft. 11-5. Commercially grown, especially around Mersin and Adana; also extensively naturalized and invasive on roadsides, sand dunes, etc.
