Erect rhizomatous perennial; stems 20-70 cm, glandular-pubescent above, glabrous below, petioles decurrent into 2 raised lines down stem. Leaves lanceolate to narrowly ovate, 3-11 x 1-4 cm; glabrous to very sparsely pubescent, margins serrate, abruptly narrowed at base into a c. 0.5 mm petiole. Inflorescence densely glandular-hairy. Flowers pale pink; petals 6-8 mm; stigma entire. Capsule 4-6 cm; seeds obovoid, c. 1 mm, papillose. Fl. 7-8. By streams and lakes, s.l.-2600 m.
