O. cernua Loefl., Iter Hisp. 152 (1758). Syn: O. camptolepis Boiss. & Reuter in Boiss., Fl. Or. 4:515 (1879). Ic: Pflanzenreich 96 (IV. 261): f. 13 B B, C(1930).
Stem to 40 cm. Calyx teeth acuminate or subulate, 3-veined. Corolla 10-24 mm, inflated below insertion of stamens, constricted in middle, inclined forward in upper half, often geniculate, patent, white shining at base, amethyst blue towards throat, sparingly glandular. Stamens inserted a little below middle of corolla tube. Filaments glabrous or hairy at base. Stigma white or pale. Fl. 4-8. On Compositae (incl. Helianthus annuus), Solanaceae and Poly-gonum maritimum, nr s.l-2700 m.

Beck in Pflanzenreich 96 (IV. 261): 126 (1930)), from O. cernua as a species. This taxon has flowers to 12 mm long with bracts and calyx teeth nearly equalling the corolla tube.
