Perennial. Stems erect, up to 120 cm. Basal leaves oblong-ovate, broadly cuneate to truncate; cauline leaves similar, sessile. Inner perianth segments enlarged in fruit, cordate-orbicular, more than 10 mm across, only one of them clearly tuberculate. Fruiting pedicels longer than the perianth segments, articulated below the middle. Fl. 6-8. Slopes, pastures, 1800-3000 m. Type: [Turkey A7 Gümüşane] Gümüşane, 1894, Sintenis 7072.
