Plant 7-45 cm, slender, adpressed-puberulous, much branched. Leaf laciniae linear, acute. Flowers lavender, 18-20 mm. Corolla 5-lobed; the upper lobe short, bifid, shorter than the protruding, narrowly dentiform, intermediate lobes; lateral (lower) lobes ovate, obtuse, separated from the intermediate lobes by a narrow sinus; spur short, circinately involute. Follicle semi-obovate, 8-11 x 3-4 mm, apex rounded, abruptly rostrate. Fl. 7-9. Stony hillsides, fallow fields, 2000 m. Lectotype: 'Syria', Aucher 65 (G!) Kurdistan.
