D.dolichostachyum Chowdhuri&DavisinNotesR.B.G.Edinb.22:408(1958). Differs from D. carduchorum in its long, dense, spike-like, crisply pubescent inflorescence, more prominent and even narrower bracts and bracteoles, and smaller, pale blue flowers. Fl. 8, Type: Turkey B9 Bitlis: d. Kotum, Karz Da. above Kemer, in limestone ravine, 24 viii 1954, Davis & O. Polunin (D. 24566, holo. E! iso. K!). Endemic; Ir.-Tur. element. The status of this taxon, only known from the type, is somewhat uncertain. Although allied to D. carduchorum, it shows some resemblance to D. dasystachyum in its dull, dense inflorescence of small, pale blue flowers, but differs markedly in its crisp indumentum, and different leaves, bracts and bracteoles. |
