R. fenzlii Boiss., Fl. Or. 1: 44 (1867). Figures 4, 5, pp. 157, 173. Perennial, 10-40(-60) cm, adpressed-pilose, sometimes adpressed-villose or glabrescent. Rhizome horizontal, hairy. Stem 1-9-flowered, leafy. Radical leaves pedately trisect, middle segments with a 3-5 mm petiolule; segments broadly cuneate, deeply divided into oblong laciniae incised or few-toothed only near apex; upper stem leaves divided to base into several long linear segments. Sepals adpressed. Petals 8-20 mm. Achenes semi-circular, compressed, 3.5-4 mm, with at least 1 nerve parallel to the margin, glabrous; beak slender, circinate, c. 1 mm. Fl. 5-7. Rocky slopes, often on limestone, 2000-2700 m. Lectotype: [E. Anatolia] in summo Tchosch Dagh Ciliciae Kurdicae ad nives, 2250 m, Kotschy 107 (G! iso-lectotype K! BM!). Cilician Taurus.
