R. vanensis P.H. Davis in Fl. Turkey 10:231 (1988). Dwarf, glabrous perennial. Collar fibrous, roots monomorphic, cylindrical (c. 1-1.5 mm diam.), with fibrous rootlets. Stems 1 (-2)-flowered. Petioles to 4.5 cm, broadening near base; lamina flabellate. attenuate at base, divided to at least 1/2-2/3 into rather thick, very obtuse segments. Sepals adpressed, broadly obovate, 6-7 mm, concave, obtuse. Petals yellow, broadly obovate, 8-10 x 5-7 mm. Anthers 1.2-1.4 mm. Fruit unknown. Fl. 5. Grassy slopes, c. 3000 m. Type: Turkey B9 Van: Çuh pass between Hoşap and Başkale, grassy peaty slopes, c. 3000 m, 16 v 1972, E.M. Rix 1971 (holo. E!). Endemic. Ir.-Tur. element. A member of'Group B' (Fl. Turkey 1:149 & 165), keying out to R. polyrhizos Steph. ex Willd. [1:170] but differing by its adpressed sepals. |
