Map 58, p. 535. Shrub up to 1 m (or adpressed to rock), branches alternate, young spines pubescent, greyish brown. Leaf lamina narrowly obovate to elliptic-oblanceolate, 15-30 x 5-13 mm, flat, remotely serrulate to subentire, densely pubescent-tomentellous on both sides; petiole 5-10 mm. Fruiting pedicels 5-8 mm. Disc glabrous or puberulous. Fruit 5-6 mm diam.; seed with bifid groove. Rocky slopes and cliffs, 1800-1900 m. Type: [Iraq] in rupibus partis superioris montis Gara Kurdistaniae, Aucher 536 (K!).
