A. trichamygdalus (Hand.-Mazz.) Woronow in Bull. Appl. Bot. PL Breed. (Leningrad) 14:49 (1925). Syn: Prunus trichamygdalus Hand.-Mazz. in Ann. Nat. Hofmus. Wien 27:70 t. 2 f. 2 (1913). Map 9, p. 27. Unarmed shrub or tree; young shoots glabrous. Leaves elliptic, up to 4 x 2 cm, finely glandular-crenate, glabrous above, with a few adpressed silvery hairs beneath, subcoriaceous; petioles up to 5 mm. Flowers unknown. Drupe broadly ovoid to narrowly ovate and compressed, up to 30 x 20 mm, sessile, shortly velutinous; stone pitted. Upland districts, 1000-2500 m. 1. Drupes broadly ovoid, up to 22 x 15 mm; stones with indistinctly marked grooves along keel, and with erect mucro at the top var. trichamygdalus 1. Drupes narrowly ovate, more compressed, up to 30 x 20 mm; stones without grooves and with acute, recurved mucro at the top var. elongata var. trichamygdalus.
