Procumbent or ascending, sparsely glandular, pilose or glabrous perennial with a thick rootstock. Basal leaves digitate; leaflets 5, broadly obovate, 6-18 x 3-12 mm, incised-crenate or dentate, sparsely pilose to glabrescent on both sides. Epicalyx segments obovate to ovate, obtuse, slightly shorter than ovate-lanceolate, 3-4.5 mm sepals. Petals yellow, obcordate, 3.5-6 mm. Achenes rugulose; style subterminal, filiform, conical at the base, twice as long as achene. Fl. 6-8. Mountain slopes, 2550-3200 m. Many syntypes cited from N. Iran. E. Anatolia.
