P. pannosa Boiss. & Hausskn. in Boiss., Fl. Or. 2:719 (1872). Ic: Fl. Iranica-Rosaceae 1: t. 41, f. 1 (1969). Tufted villous perennial with a thick rootstock and ascending flowering stems, 5-10 cm. Leaves digitate: leaflets 5, broadly obovate, 8-15 ? 5-10 mm, cuneate at base, crenate to incised-dentate, densely villous, grey on both sides. Flowers in few flowered, terminal cymes. Epicalyx segments elliptic, oblong, obtuse. Sepals ovate, 3-5-4 mm, acute, as long as or slightly longer than epicalyx segments. Petals yellow, broadly obovate, 5-6 mm, emarginate. Achenes rugulose; style subterminal, filiform, conical at the base, twice as long as achene. Fl. 6-8. Mountain slopes, 3200 m. Type: [W. Iran] in fissuris rupium calcarearum montis Schahu Kurdistaniae, 3050-3350 m, Haussknecht (holo. G! iso. K!). S.E. Anatolia. B9 Siirt: Gedik Ağzi, 12 km ?. of Mukuş, 3200 m, Frödin. ?. & W. Iran, N. Iraq, Afghanistan. Ir.-Tur. element. Related to P. aucheriana from which it is easily distinguished by its indumentum. In Turkey only known from the above record, which requires confirmation. |
