S. tridactylites L., Sp. PI. 404 (1753). Ic: Ross-Craig, Draw. Brit. PI. 10: t. 6 (1957); Reichb., Ic. Fl. Germ. 23: t. 114 (1898-9). Annual, usually glandular-hairy, with erect stems 2.5-10 cm. Basal leaves entire, spathulate, not forming a rosette, usually withering before flowering. Cauline leaves cuneate, 3-lobed, or sometimes elliptic, entire. Pedicels exceeding flowers in length. Petals 1.5-2.5 mm, obovate, white, c. 2 x as long as sepals. Ovary semi-inferior. Capsule ± globose, base rounded or truncate. Fl. 3-7. Rocky places, walls, s. 1.-2300 m. Described from Europe (Hb.
