Perennial, with eglandular villous and glandular hairs. Stems sturdy, erect, c. 100 cm, branched above. Leaves alternate below, opposite above, narrowly lanceolate or oblong, acute, to 7 x 1-5 cm, ± sessile, crenate-serrate. Inflorescence widely paniculate, many-flowered. Bracts ovate to narrowly lanceolate, to 2.5 x 1 cm. Pedicels 2-4 mm. Calyx campanulate, to 8 mm in flower; tube to 8 mm. Corolla golden yellow, to c. 14 mm; tube c. 5 mm; upper lip c. 9 mm incl. a c. 6 mm straight beak; lower lip 8-10 mm broad, ± equally 3-lobed, shorter than upper. Style pilose.
