V. polium P.H.Davis in Notes R.B.G. Edinb. 24:28 (1962). Differs from V. polifolia by tufts smaller, denser, 4-7 cm; racemes 1-2, lax, 3-12-flowered, densely glandular-pubescent (hairs 0.1-0.4 mm), eglandular hairs almost absent; pedicels 3-6 mm, 2-3.5 x bracts; corolla blue. Fl. 6-7. Cliffs, c. 3050 m. Type: [Turkey B9] Bitlis, Pelli dağ above Pelli, '3000 m', 7 vii 1954, Davis & O.Polunin, D. 22496 (holo. E!). S.E. Anatolia; local. B9 Bitlis: Pelli Da., 3048 m, D. 22470! Endemic. Ir.-Tur. element. Closely allied to V. polifolia. |
